Zaid Abdul-Aleem is a Partner and Head of Partner & Capital Solutions at Invictus Growth Partners (“Invictus”). Zaid has over 25 years of global investor relations and capital raising experience within asset management and investment banking. Zaid has advised on over $50 billion in capital raised over the span of his career.
Prior to Invictus, Zaid was Global Head of Investor Coverage and Co-Founder of Private Funds Advisory at Moelis & Company where he advised leading financial sponsors on raising institutional capital within the private markets. While at Moelis, Zaid was a voting member of the Private Funds Advisory new business committee and a member of the firm’s Senior Leadership Team serving as Co-Chair of the company’s Global Employee Networks.
Prior to Moelis, Zaid was a senior member of the Private Funds Advisory team at Greenhill and previously Head of Business Development at asset management firm, Piedmont Investment Advisors. At Piedmont, Zaid served as Partner and member of the Firm Management Committee, leading client service and growth in assets under management with such clients as The United States Treasury, California Public Employee Retirement Systems, and New York Life. Zaid began his career at Morgan Stanley where he worked in the Investment Banking Divisions of Equity Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, and Mergers and Acquisitions. Zaid worked at the firm’s New York, Tokyo, Johannesburg, and London offices where his transaction experience included the IPO of UPS, the global bond offering of the South African Treasury, the privatization of the Italian Government’s interest in Telecom Italia, and the cross-border acquisition of South Africa-based Western Areas by Canada-based Placer Dome.
Zaid is actively involved in non-profit organizations and currently serves as a board member of the Duke University Graduate School Board of Visitors, Regional Transportation Authority Pension Investment Committee, and Chicago Stallions Youth Hockey Association. Zaid is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and an active volunteer for Big Shoulders Chicago as a mentor for students attending the Academy of St. Benedict the African. Zaid speaks Portuguese and is a graduate of Duke University, where he served as Co-Captain of the Duke Football Team, and earned an A.B., M.A., and was a Fulbright Scholar.
